Hey Neighbor....Happy Thanksgiving!

These Adelie Penguins will melt all the ice off of the coldest of Grinch hearts. They think humans are big penguins, and they love to run up to greet people....only to become shocked and disappointed that you are not their long-lost cousin.

  1. As a recent transplant to the Isle of Ross myself, I have to say that you really nail what it's like to be on the ice. The dorm situation here is almost identical to that of my college dorm, only with more 40+ year old people running then I recall from my college days...although that was 11 years ago and I did go to a State school, so it's possible my memory is just hazy. I look forward to reading your posts periodically as I pass the time down here.

    1. Thanks for your nice feedback, Matt. I get a little self-conscious when my fellow ice colleagues read my blog. But it helps me to stay "slightly truthful" in my writing. Otherwise I would make myself the heroine of every story...(guess I do that no matter what)....More posts to come!

  2. No reason for self-consciousness, you nail it. If you would prefer a hero to a heroine I've always wanted my exploits in print...I did wear a cape once, just saying. Keep up the good work.

    1. Hahahaha.....if you wear your cape and climb Mt Erebus, I will definitely write a glorious account of that exploit.
